A Pencil's Point



The pencil.

It looks simple enough but it is incredibly complex -- a miracle it is even produced at all.

It is, wrote Leonard Read in 1958, a triumph of human freedom -- a triumph of creative human energies spontaneously responding to human necessity and desire.

Its complexity is something the folks running our government should learn more about.
