I looked into Obama's record as a community organizer, law professor, state Senator and U.S. Senator and was surprised to discover a lack of bold, gutsy moves or even any concrete results -- a record that is out of sync with his otherwise compelling public presence.

He's clearly a smart fellow -- he's a powerful and eloquent communicator -- and becoming the first black presidential candidate is to be celebrated regardless of one's politics.

Barack is certainly more qualified to be president than I am, but as far as his record goes he's not a heck of a lot more qualified. This gives me hope that maybe one day I could have a shot at the presidency, too.
