Don't Take Her for Granted

My family and I had a wonderful Mother's Day celebration yesterday. We always go to my mother's and father's and have a grand time catching up... and enjoying how well our parents are doing and how blessed we were to be raised as we were.

That was the theme of my Mother's Day column this year. It has produced a bit of e-mail... people praising me for the piece. I always thank people for such praise, but need to correct them. The fact is I'm just a reporter. What is great is my mother -- and so many others like her silently struggling and sacrificing for their children.

In any event, here is the column. I hope your Mother's Day was as blessed as mine. Lucky for me, I don't take such days for granted anymore.
